Concerning the improving health of Alexander's "Fratello," John Ruskin, noting that the "change is certainly wonderful." Also noting "what a mercy that [Severn is] with him, to reason away such black thoughts as that of the Devil having things his own way," and that "the first sign of his recovery seemd to be in his growing affection for [Severn]." Hoping that Ruskin may soon "walk out with [Severn] about the garden."
